Toys of Christmas Past - Part 8 - Give a Show Projector

Give A Show Projector - Kenner - Early 60's to Mid 70's

Before there was youtube, before there was facebook, there was Kenners Give a Show projector.

This was a battery operated cross between a filmstrip projector (remember those boys and girls), and a slide projector. It came with cellophane slides encased in cardboard. There were about 6 pannels per strip. There were all sorts of different themes, cartoon characters, super hero's, TV shows of the day.

The idea was to darken the room and give a slide show like the grown ups, using your own give-a-show projector. Later on in the early 1970's Kenner introduced the Easy-Show Movie projector. This had black and white movies on a film loop cartridge (with no sound).

I do remember friends and neighbors having both of these toys.

Here are some commercials
